The institution is seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join the team and inspire students to explore the rich tapestry of human history, develop critical thinking skills, and connect the past to the present.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and dynamic history lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Inspiring students to think critically about historical events, their causes, and their impacts.
  • Fostering a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, discussion, and debate.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress through assignments, exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Integrating technology, multimedia resources, and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and promote a cohesive learning environment.
  • Participating in parent-teacher consultations, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contributing to extracurricular activities such as history clubs, school trips, or competitions to enrich students' learning experiences.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field (PGCE or equivalent is imperative).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience teaching history at [appropriate key stage, e.g., KS3, KS4, KS5].
  • Deep knowledge of historical content and pedagogical techniques.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for history and the ability to inspire students.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices.
