Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our educational institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a love for literature and language among students. This role involves creating an engaging learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills. The English Teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and support the academic growth of all students.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom discussions that promote student participation and critical analysis of texts.
  • Assess student progress through various methods, including assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that respects diverse perspectives and encourages student expression.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to design interdisciplinary projects that integrate English language arts with other subjects.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in teaching methodologies.
Qualifications
  • A degree in English, Education, or a related field is essential.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification is required e.g. PGCE, School Direct.
  • Previous teaching experience in an educational setting is preferred but not mandatory for enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
  • Strong knowledge of English literature, language arts, and effective pedagogical techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Ability to inspire students and foster a love for reading and writing through innovative teaching methods.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in teaching practices.
