Secondary Art Teacher Required (Must have PGCE/QTS) - North London

Our school is a vibrant, diverse learning community that values creativity, critical thinking, and academic excellence. The school is looking for a passionate Art Teacher to join the team and inspire students to develop their artistic skills, creativity, and self-expression. The right candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who can create a dynamic classroom environment where all students feel supported and motivated to explore their artistic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach an engaging art curriculum for students in years 7-13, covering drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital arts.
  • Create lesson plans that are both challenging and inspiring, in line with state and national standards.
  • Provide individual feedback to help students grow their skills and express themselves creatively.
  • Organise student art shows, exhibitions, and competitions.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, risk-taking, and self-expression.
  • Participate in school-wide activities and professional development opportunities.
  • Track student progress and maintain records of assignments, projects, and grades.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience, preferably at secondary school level (ECTs with a strong portfolio are welcome to apply).
  • Knowledge of various artistic techniques, media, and digital tools.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to engage students with different learning styles and backgrounds.
  • A passion for teaching and helping students grow through art.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with teaching digital media or graphic design.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing personal artwork and teaching projects.
  • A solid understanding of art history and its integration into lessons.
