Job Summary
A dynamic secondary school in London seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to inspire and engage students in their mathematical learning journey. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team committed to academic excellence and student development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners across Key Stages 3, 4, and, if applicable, Key Stage 5.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess students’ work in accordance with the national curriculum and school guidelines.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to achieve their potential.
  • Monitor and track students’ progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and contribute to the department’s resources.
  • Participate actively in department meetings, training sessions, and school-wide events.
  • Uphold the school’s policies, ethos, and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS). A degree in Mathematics or a related field is essential.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary level, including preparing students for GCSE examinations. Experience teaching A-levels is desirable but not essential.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make mathematics accessible and engaging.
    • Excellent classroom management skills with a focus on creating a supportive and focused learning environment.
    • A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a love of mathematics among students.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
