Science Teacher Opportunity in London School

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in scientific principles and methodologies, with the ability to educate students effectively in various scientific disciplines. This role involves fostering a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking among students.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover key scientific concepts, including but not limited to biochemistry and laboratory practices.
  • Educate students on the scientific method and promote hands-on learning through experiments and practical applications.
  • Provide tutoring and mentoring support to students, particularly those requiring special education assistance.
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to enhance their understanding of the subject matter.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative educational environment.
  • Conduct scientific research projects with students, encouraging them to explore their interests within the field of science.
  • Maintain an organised classroom environment that supports learning and adheres to health and safety regulations.
  • Proofread educational materials and assist in curriculum development as needed.
Qualifications
  • A teaching qualification is paramount e.g. PGCE, School Direct.
  • QTS is also absolutely necessary.
  • A degree in a relevant field of science or education is essential.
  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring science subjects is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students of varying abilities.
  • Familiarity with special education practices is an advantage.
  • Proficient in laboratory techniques and safety protocols related to scientific experimentation.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere that encourages student participation and inquiry.
