Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Join our dynamic and inclusive primary school in Clapham, London, where we are committed to nurturing every child's potential and fostering a supportive learning environment.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in supporting children with ASD. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to provide tailored support for students with additional needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to children with ASD.
  • Adapting learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting students' emotional well-being and social development.
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support.
  • Encouraging independence and building confidence in the classroom environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have prior experience working with children with ASD in a school setting.
  • Possess a good understanding of strategies to support children with SEN.
  • Be patient, compassionate, and proactive in their approach.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
